Dear Rui
My story on how I ended up in Penang began in the middle of the global financial crisis in 2009. I lost my upper-level management position and since I was “old”, try as I might, I probably won’t be able to find a decent job. Anyway I knew that social security would kick in soon, so that was when I started spending my time researching retirement destinations in Southeast Asia.
I found a host of locations like Hua Hin, Chiang Mai, Phnom Penh, Nha Trang and Penang where I could retire with a nice standard of living for far less money than was possible in the States. Excited by what I found, my husband and I made a spontaneous decision to sell what remained of our lives in the U.S. to establish ourselves in Southeast Asia. But rather than just relocating immediately, we set an initial budget of US$3,000 a month that permitted us to travel around countries in the region to conduct our “research”.

I just had breakfast with my daughter Milana. She’s just a year and 8 months old and has watched all my videos. She can’t talk yet but I can tell how she always roots for me to do my best and get the best deals.
Now rewind to a few years back, the Quayside development in Penang was so hot, it’s hard to even get through the lines. Fast forward to June 2014, I met Christina, the developer to pitch for the chance to market the final and most exclusive tower in this amazing development. And when she said yes, I smiled with great happiness because this is a developer who work so hard to create a stunning development that will never be replicated by anyone.
So to show you how much I love this development, I did another video on the project entitled – No Place I Rather Be
Writing from the heart and if you’re looking for a home, you will fall in love. If you are going to invest, you will fall in love and make lots of money in the long run.
Thanks for reading.
